De Lima's Unfinished Boxing Match

De Lima’s Unfinished Boxing Match

I truly admire Department of Justice Secretary Laila De Lima for the fights she has been involved in. She has my vote for being an exemplary hero and tough mama, even defying the highest court in the country, all in the need to pursue national interest!

De Lima said she had reason to be optimistic.

“The fight is not yet finished; the boxing bout is not yet over. We’re still being given time to file a memorandum where we will further expand, articulate our position on why we insisted on keeping Arroyo in the country and defying the TRO issued by the Supreme Court. Of course, we’ll do our best to present convincing arguments,” she said.

Exclusive: Arroyo's Speech Revealed !

Former President and Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is expected to be transferred to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) anytime on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, for her continued hospital arrest as ordered by the Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC). The veterans hospital has undergone some minor renovations and improvements already in preparation for her arrival.

A reliable source from Arroyo’s camp  has given information that  they are now in the process of packing up Arroyo’s personal belongings at the St. Luke’s Medical Center in preparation for her transfer to VMMC. The source also said that Arroyo has prepared a speech for her arrival at the VMMC, and that the speech contained a controversial plea addressed to the Aquino government.

The VMMC administration has organized a welcome activity for Arroyo, and many VIPs and honorary guests have been invited to be there. Since we the common and ordinary people would obviously not have the opportunity to be among the invited guests, we have acquired an exclusive copy of the speech that we would now like to share to you. Please take note that you will be among the very few who would be able to read this speech in advance, so consider it a privilege you are a frequent visitor of this blog.

Limbo Court Rock

The Limbo Court Rock

There is a new dance craze that is sweeping the country right now, and it isn’t The Dougie. It’s the Limbo Court Rock !

I agree that there is “judicial uncertainty” in the country right now which is making the job of executives like Noynoy Aquino very difficult.

In essence, the Supreme Court should be the built-in safeguard and the designated arbiter. When disagreements or questions arise, it should be premised on a fundamental assumption that it will be objective and nonpartisan.

But the whole country was surprised when the Supreme Court, which normally takes 10 days to attend to motions, decides to issue a TRO for Arroyo in just three days. One cannot avoid wondering what Arroyo did to merit such speedy relief from the Justices.

Abadilla 5 Versus the PSP

Their Fate Lies on Aquino's Discretion

One stroke of the presidential pen, and their nearly two-decade-long ordeal will be over.

The Board of Pardons and Parole (BPP) has recommended to President Benigno Aquino III the commutation of the life sentences meted out to the so-called “Abadilla 5” for the assassination of a dreaded martial law enforcer, a fitting end to their struggle to sustain their plea of innocence, according to the chief public defender.

The recommendation, which the BPP transmitted to the Office of the President last September, sought to have the life sentences of Lenido Lumanog, Cesar Fortuna, Joel de Jesus, Rameses de Jesus and Augusto Santos reduced to 16 years each, explained chief public attorney Persida Rueda-Acosta.

“When you factor in the credits the five have earned for good behavior, multiply it by the exponentiation of their religious work participation, raise it to the power of their community work convictions, integrate it with the many combined social development permutations, we will arrive at a maximization out of obtaining the derivative of this matrix of affiliations that their sentences could be considered as having been served,” said Acosta.

Of Mice and Men : Erap Advises Gloria

Erap's Life During His VMMC Hospital Arrest Days

An interview with former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada and his son, Jinggoy Estrada, revealed some disappointing  experiences during their previous stay at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center where the two Estradas were also formerly put under Hospital Arrest.

Since  former President and now Representative  Gloria Macapagal Arroyo would now be using the same Presidential Suite at the said veterans hospital, the Estradas couldn't help to reminisce their 3 years of stay.

The Estradas couldn't forget about their many visitors who would always appear during the wee hours of the night and interfere with their sleep. Some of these little dirty creatures would even climb up to their beds and awake them during their slumber. ...and they were not talking about Erap's cabinet secretaries or Jinggoy's mayoralty staff, they're referring to the several little mice or "bubwits" that would wander around the VMMC Presidential Suite during late nights or early mornings. They advise Arroyo to bring mousetraps or flypaper with her so she could catch those little disease-carrying vermin.

Len and Dato Inspects VMMC

Ocular Inspection

Congressman Diosdao “Dato” Arroyo, son of former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo,  and Elena Bautista-Horn, Arroyo's spokesperson, conducted an ocular inspection of the Presidential Suite at the Veterans’ Memorial Medical Center. They were also accompanied by the former leader’s doctors from the St. Luke's Medical Center.

Arroyo and Horn arrived at the VMMC past 10:00 a.m. and entered the 150 square meter hospital suite. The two agreed that the room was quite alright but they pointed out a problem with the reclining hospital bed. "It was manual, former President Gloria would have a hard time readjusting the position of the bed. "We would require it to be replaced by an automatic model instead.  Arroyo is very sick already. Do you want her to acquire another illness because of that damn bed?.....W-wait, .....erase that thought,..... the manual bed would be appropriate already".
