Jurassic Pork Barrel

There are dinosaurs in our midst.

Those ugly and ferocious reptiles of politics who dip their dirty hands on the Pork Barrel funds.

We are either living in a world called Pera Nova (Terra Nova) or Jurassic Pork (Jurassic Park).

They are more popularly called "buwayas" or crocodiles. But it seems they should more likely be called dinosaurs because many of them are not living in dreaded mosquito-infested swamps. They have migrated into bigger and fancy abodes in the cities, splurging on fine dining cuisines, globe-trotting in tourists and vacation spots almost every weekend, totting expensive Barong Tagalogs or suits, and have grown huge and powerful enough to crush you under their bare feet. They have become powerful not just because of the authority, but because they have a more potent form of ravaging into supremacy, and that is with their pork barrel funds.

Hey, I Just Met You...

"I told you... and I m sure there are more to come... some would even be too callous to add.. "Vote Me Maybe" :)"

Above is a Facebook ad of one Congressman, created by a follower (I think). I just replaced the face and the info details to keep him anonymous because I kinda like the guy, and the idea was not his doing. But it's being spread online and originated from his Facebook account. Funny enough, the admins of the FB page gave their blessings.

This is just one example of how social networking sites are also being used for publicity .....and early campaigning for the 2013 local elections in the Philippines. I have to admit that it really somehow works (well it reached me, didn't it) especially that many of us are practically online everyday. Call it online brainwashing....or Facebook supremacy!

Security Risk?

Since when did we became a security risk to the government after choosing to break free from a dictatorial official of one of its agencies?

Oh, wait.....maybe its true!

We become a security risk to their own "safety", and to the rest of their equally corrupt, deceptive and conniving cohorts and minions.

Wanna Have Some Hard Spanking?

Some politicians and government officials definitely need some hard SPANKING for the severe IMPROPRIETIES they have committed to society.

I dedicate this poem to them. Paki-translate na lang from Filipino for those who couldn't understand Tagalog.

Aba-aba, sino ba itong tinatawag akong pogi
Ano ba tingin mo dito, PBB Teens?

Troll Tanong

Win a Be Kind To Us Trolls t-shirt for the one who can give the BEST answer to this question:
"Para mahimbing ang iyong pagtulog, ano ang pinaka da best na unan?"

English translation: "If you want a good night sleep, what do you think would be the best pillow?"

Hint: You do not need to take the question literally. Meaning, read between the lines - if you get my drift.

Just send in your answers via email at technospecs@gmail.com  with the SUBJECT: Troll Tanong.

Lord, Please..Kunin Mo Na Sila, Please.

I love this poem - It sums up most of what needs to be said to the corrupt members of our society.
Now, we just have to muster the guts to say it eye-to-eye.

Gagawan ng issue against you at mag-iimbento ng kaso

The Evolution From Cat To Brat

Ever wondered why memes are created? ....and how they evolve from one form to another.

I was fascinated with the vast number of memes proliferating online, probably because almost everyone has easy access to the Internet nowadays, many are getting more involved, expressive and opinionated with what's happening in our society....and many are creative enough to come up with these humorous "interventions" on the mysteries of life.

Memes are viral and propagate around therefore sometimes mutating as they propagate from one person to the next. It's success on becoming viral would depend on how popular the subject matter of the meme is, and it would be a big help as well if the subject matter continues to be in the news.

Bakit Nga Ba Gusto Nating Pumuti?

In the same way that foreigners like to be tan so that they'll look wealthy enough to regularly go on vacation to exotic locales/beaches, (Coco Chanel started the tanning trend in the 20's when she came home sunburnt after a vacay at the French Riviera).

Filipinos wanting to be white has less to do with colonial mentality and more to do with being associated with the upper class. (Leisure class/doing jobs that don't require toiling under the hot sun). I remember Glutamax using Gretchen Baretto as an image model, with the slogan "Kutis Mayaman".

Aanhin naman ang kutis mayaman kung astang matrona naman like her sister Claudine Baretto? (Remember the Claudine Barreto, Raymart Santiago and Mon Tulfo brawl at the NAIA Terminal 3?)

What's Your Mix?

Does the BAYO "mix" ad identify Pinays with a mixed race beautiful?

In a country that puts a premium on the mixed, what does being FULL or 100% mean?

Even our national hero is a % Chinese. The whole Bayo debacle is just mindless and offensive. Filipinos were never a homogenous race. We're all a mix of different races, ethnicities and cultures, thus comes out a people so unique yet so FILIPINO.

Be Kind To Us Baluts

Balutropolis centers on everything about "Balut" and the shady characters and their ideals that revolves around their neighborhood, and the rest of the world.

Balut (duck fetus egg), Penoy(milder version of the Balut - no feet, beak and feathered chick inside), Abnoy (more popularly cooked as "bibingkang abnoy"  similar to an omelette) and Pulang Itlog (aka Itlog na Maalat  or  Salted Egg in English), are the variants of delicacies you can have from cooking and preparing these duck eggs.

These posts represents the different type of Balut-related articles, blogs, images, facts, people, and imaginative stories our hero or protagonist encounters in his everyday adventure.

Each adventure exploits encounters that could be categorically branded as  simply mundane or insanely extraordinary.

Credit to the original authors and owners of the literary and art works gathered online, but would try my best to post original masterpieces.

Be Kind To Us Trolls Too

This multi-million dollar, or more, movie was inspired by the highest grossing blockbuster courtroom tele-drama anticipated almost everyday by all Filipinos, Fil-Ams and media foreigners, worldwide. From the signing of the Impeachment complaint by the 188 Congressmen, until the final verdict of GUILTY by the Senator-Judges.

Wheelchair and Other "Palusots"

“Ang Kawatang Nagigipit, Sa Wheelchair Kumakapit”

A few months ago, Malacañang refuted a statement of Chief Justice Renato Corona that the root cause of his impeachment was the Supreme Court’s adverse decision on the Hacienda Luisita owned by the President’s family.

Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda vehemently denied and stated that the root cause of Corona’s impeachment was Corona’s “lapdog loyalty” to former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as shown by the High Court’s issuance of the TRO against the watchlist order on the former President.

Now that the Impeachment trial is over, many would have to agree  that Corona indeed takes after his “master” for following her “wheelchair” strategy to fish for sympathy.

When all “technicalities” failed, go for the “underdog” approach.

Barbershop Philosophers

As a child, I went to the nearest barbershop a few blocks away from our house in my hometown.  I remember being fascinated with all the barber stuff. There were several combs of different shapes and sizes, and I won't forget the first time I saw and heard the electric shaver that would be used on my nape when I ask for a "barbers cut" plus the sharp "labaha" or razor that the barber would use on my  .

What I remember most though, was the distinct "manliness" of the place. There were plenty of calendar cum posters on the walls displaying scantily-clad women endorsing alcoholic beverages. The posters, containing beautiful, sexy and voluptuous women, masquerading as calendars were all over the place. In fact it may have been the reason why I got interested in girls at a very young age.

Mister Anonymous

"Why is there a proliferation of Mr. Anonymous in this archipelago?!" says Senator-judge Miriam Defensor Santiago.

I would have to laugh-out-loud if the Senator would take it seriously and consider requiring the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel to look for "Mister Anonymous" due to a strike three circumstance where evidences coming in are from "anonymous" sources.

Google Translate, Please !

What It Really Means

Chief Justice Renato Corona has quickly made a statement as a response to the testimonies in court of Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales at the Impeachment Trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona. The statements were short but vague for it neither denies nor affirms any truth or falsehood. I made Google Translate do the English to Filipino translation (although a bit rough on some), and also tried to explain what they could probably really mean. If only I could read the mind of the Chief Justice, then it would be fun knowing the truth behind his unexplained wealth.

Are You MILF Enough?

What better way to get people buzzing than featuring a hip blond mom breastfeeding her post toddler child?

Breastfeeding babies in public causes a stir. People have an issue with nursing in public even with an infant. Here they used a 3-year-old child when most children are weaned between 6 months and a year.  People are up in arms simply because it depicts such an intimate act between a mother and child, - and even more commotion breaks lose when it's a hot blonde that's MILF material.

If the heat of the summer doesn't get you all hot-tempered, well you may get differently "hot" instead seeing the latest magazine cover which has become the talk of the world recently.

Ang Sirena Sa Terminal 3 ng NAIA

Out of This World
(Sing to the tune of Part of Your World from the Little Mermaid movie)

Looking around here you think
That Claudine’s got everything
I’ve got hubbie Raymart and friends a-plenty
I’ve got Mon Tulfo’s shoeprint and bruises galore
You want threats and bad publicity?
I’ve got plenty!
But who cares?
No big deal...
I want more !

I wanna be back there at NAIA Terminal 3
I wanna scream, wanna hear myself cursin’
Punching abound with my– fists, with no rest
My bottom is fish (I smell), my top is woman (I yell)

Down where Mon took the video (pictures), seeing me berating Bocboc and Ilagan
At a counter in the baggage claim area I was caught in the act
Now I'm the Tulfo brothers enemy – wish I could flee
Out of this world !

Sin Bin

According to Wikipedia,  The sin bin (sometimes called the penalty box, bad box, or simply bin) is the area in ice hockey, rugby league, rugby union and some other sports where a player sits to serve the time of a given penalty, for an offense not severe enough to merit outright expulsion from the contest. Teams are generally not allowed to replace players who have been sent to the penalty box.

A player who has committed a foul can be sent to sit for a specified period.

The Tulfo brothers, Ben, Erwin and Raffy has recently been sent to the Sin Bin.

Monster Hunter Aquino

“We cannot expect Corona to be a sterling example of good governance,” presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda told Agence France-Presse just before the start of the trial, which is expected to take months.

“Removing him would be a vital cog in the president’s fight against corruption.”

Aquino won a landslide election victory in 2010 largely on a platform to end the corruption which has plagued the Philippines for decades and which he says got worse under the decade-long reign of his predecessor, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
