Road Distractions

Driving is a complex task. To anticipate and avoid hazards on the road, drivers need to concentrate and give it their full attention.

You can never be sure about what other drivers will do, which is why preventative measures are important. Such measures include keeping your distance from other vehicles, keeping your speed down and staying alert to what is happening all around you.

It involves constant and complex coordination between your mind and body. Events or things that prevent you from operating your car safely are distractions. There are three types of distractions and they are anything that takes your:

• eyes off the road (visual).
• mind off the road (cognitive).
• hands off the steering wheel (manual).

Never Never Land

I always feel in "italics" and think in "capitals!". Which means, I live life to the fullest. I have resolved that, whatever eternity has up its sleeve, I will enjoy life here and now. With happiness so threatened, why not be happy now? 

Peter Pan Syndrome is the supposed psychological phenomenon of immaturity among some men and women, who, like the fictional character, remain childish and fail to assume appropriate adult social roles and responsibilities.

I've read from a fellow blogger that her neighbor had teased here of having this kind of syndrome. I can relate very well.

Bomb Droppings

Ever wondered how it will feel like if you would be able to drop a bomb in the middle of a busy community, government institution or business establishment?

Hey, I'm not talking about that kind of bomb, I'm no terrorist! But my bomb would surely explode into smithereens and a lot of splinters or shrapnel would come flying out into several directions out from its point of origin.

But I do have worries. I am frustrated on how our so called leaders and authorities react to such bomb droppings.

I am an ordinary citizen who may come under withering fire if I try to “influence” or seem to "undermine".

Jurassic Pork Barrel

There are dinosaurs in our midst.

Those ugly and ferocious reptiles of politics who dip their dirty hands on the Pork Barrel funds.

We are either living in a world called Pera Nova (Terra Nova) or Jurassic Pork (Jurassic Park).

They are more popularly called "buwayas" or crocodiles. But it seems they should more likely be called dinosaurs because many of them are not living in dreaded mosquito-infested swamps. They have migrated into bigger and fancy abodes in the cities, splurging on fine dining cuisines, globe-trotting in tourists and vacation spots almost every weekend, totting expensive Barong Tagalogs or suits, and have grown huge and powerful enough to crush you under their bare feet. They have become powerful not just because of the authority, but because they have a more potent form of ravaging into supremacy, and that is with their pork barrel funds.

Above is a Facebook ad of one Congressman, created by a follower (I think). I just replaced the face and the info details to keep him anonymous because I kinda like the guy, and the idea was not his doing. But it's being spread online and originated from his Facebook account. Funny enough, the admins of the FB page gave their blessings.

This is just one example of how social networking sites are also being used for publicity .....and early campaigning for the 2013 local elections in the Philippines. I have to admit that it really somehow works (well it reached me, didn't it) especially that many of us are practically online everyday. Call it online brainwashing....or Facebook supremacy!

Security Risk?

Since when did we became a security risk to the government after choosing to break free from a dictatorial official of one of its agencies?

Oh, wait.....maybe its true!

We become a security risk to their own "safety", and to the rest of their equally corrupt, deceptive and conniving cohorts and minions.

Wanna Have Some Hard Spanking?

Some politicians and government officials definitely need some hard SPANKING for the severe IMPROPRIETIES they have committed to society.

1. Narcissistic Personality Disorder 

A mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. Those with narcissistic personality disorder believe that they're superior to others and have little regard for other people's feelings. They would often berate people whom they think is inferior and less educated and will call them names like "gago".

How many brilliant people, with fancy degrees and titles after their names, have we met with no heart, no conscience, and no moral values? I know one and she likes to shout "Wha!"

Browbeaten Keh

Poor Harvey Keh.

He was browbeaten by Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago merely because in his enthusiasm and ignorance of the law, he gave the Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile documents of anonymous origin. At the end of the Senator’s tirade, he should have simply told her:

"I am a sovereign citizen of this Republic. I deserve some respect from you, a public servant!"
For this is what all public officials are public servants. No less than the President himself affirmed this when he stated over and over again that we, the citizens of this republic, are his boss!

Unfortunately for us, many of our public officials, sustained by our taxes, do not take to heart the true meaning of their status.

Our public servants act like our masters.

Bottled Brains For Sale

If bottled brains would be available in the near future, I would be buying these three immediately just to learn what makes them tick. Well, so far they are my favorites - when they showed the country how exquisite and eccentric their minds work during the Chief Justice Renato Corona Impeachment Trial.

Bottled brains anyone? How much are you going to pay to get your hands on them?
We saw in the televised Impeachment Trial proceedings how adeptly lawyers go into semantic contortions, how they buttress their arguments with the finest frills of the law, interpreting these laws in so many obtuse ways that befuddle those of us untrained in legalese!

Be Kind To Us Trolls Too

This multi-million dollar, or more, movie was inspired by the highest grossing blockbuster courtroom tele-drama anticipated almost everyday by all Filipinos, Fil-Ams and media foreigners, worldwide. From the signing of the Impeachment complaint by the 188 Congressmen, until the final verdict of GUILTY by the Senator-Judges.

The Day Corona Testes-Tified

The "incident" at the Senate Impeachment court where the Chief Justice Renato Corona surprised everyone by his declaration of a waiver allowing most government agencies to access his bank accounts... only to give a pathetic condition later on that all 188 congressmen, who signed his Impeachment complaint, plus a special mentioned Senator Franklin Drilon, would also sign similar waivers, then CJ hurriedly walks out of the courtroom before he could be cross-examined...... was like similar to having sex with your wife at a point where both of you are almost reaching climax, at the peak of intimacy......then all of a sudden your child walks into your room and sees the two of you while in coitous.

When the CJ returned to the courtroom (he probably couldn't leave because the Senate President and presiding impeachment court senator judge Juan Ponce Enrile ordered all Senate doors and gates locked), he was in a wheelchair....like a limp penis several minutes after pleasing himself.

I believe he's far more relieved, while most of us at the courtroom had been abruptly stopped from ejaculating!

Barbershop Philosophers

As a child, I went to the nearest barbershop a few blocks away from our house in my hometown.  I remember being fascinated with all the barber stuff. There were several combs of different shapes and sizes, and I won't forget the first time I saw and heard the electric shaver that would be used on my nape when I ask for a "barbers cut" plus the sharp "labaha" or razor that the barber would use on my  .

What I remember most though, was the distinct "manliness" of the place. There were plenty of calendar cum posters on the walls displaying scantily-clad women endorsing alcoholic beverages. The posters, containing beautiful, sexy and voluptuous women, masquerading as calendars were all over the place. In fact it may have been the reason why I got interested in girls at a very young age.

"Why is there a proliferation of Mr. Anonymous in this archipelago?!" says Senator-judge Miriam Defensor Santiago.

I would have to laugh-out-loud if the Senator would take it seriously and consider requiring the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel to look for "Mister Anonymous" due to a strike three circumstance where evidences coming in are from "anonymous" sources.

What It Really Means

Chief Justice Renato Corona has quickly made a statement as a response to the testimonies in court of Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales at the Impeachment Trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona. The statements were short but vague for it neither denies nor affirms any truth or falsehood. I made Google Translate do the English to Filipino translation (although a bit rough on some), and also tried to explain what they could probably really mean. If only I could read the mind of the Chief Justice, then it would be fun knowing the truth behind his unexplained wealth.

Crazy Filipino-Canadian Landlord

I received this letter from a follower. This landlord who was also a former small-bit actor is a Filipino Canadian married to former actress Izza Ignacio, popularly seen in bold movies. He is now operating several apartments and houses for rent aside from his other businesses. His office, or probably just one of the places where he manages the business, is located at No. 2 Kanlaon Street Highway Hills Mandaluyong. 

The picture above was taken from a Filipino movie (Madame X, starring Ina Raymundo, Gary Estrada, Izza Ignacio, etc) where he had a small part. It is apparently dated so expect him to be a little more older now. We tried our best to "google" for his pictures, but surprisingly there was none. There was even no picture of his marriage with Izza Ignacio.
