Independence Day is just around the corner, and I thought it would be interesting to retell the story of a friend of mine named Doy who underwent a  seemingly like "militarized" treatment at work.

Poor Doy. Talk about losing your right to reason out and demand for a valid explanation.

It was a total nightmare to suffer the wrath of a boss who decided to bully him just to teach him a lesson. All because his boss got a beating of his own from a bigger boss.

Talk about getting even with your subordinates.

What's Your Mix?

Does the BAYO "mix" ad identify Pinays with a mixed race beautiful?

In a country that puts a premium on the mixed, what does being FULL or 100% mean?

Even our national hero is a % Chinese. The whole Bayo debacle is just mindless and offensive. Filipinos were never a homogenous race. We're all a mix of different races, ethnicities and cultures, thus comes out a people so unique yet so FILIPINO.

False Prophets or Angels Among Us

I often see this guy with a mobile microphone, and his bike and sign,  every afternoon after working hours between 5:30 to 6:00 pm. He would be talking out loud and babbling about religion.

At the Marikina plaza where a fountain can be seen, you would see this guy all dressed up in formal long sleeves, sometimes paired with slacks or maong pants, leather or topsider shoes.

I'm not really sure from which church or religious sect he came from but I have to admire him for his patience and perseverance to preach to a crowd who would often just pass by and ignore him.

He probably came by bicycle, along with his placard sign which says:

"Mahal ka ni Jesus....Sa pamamagitan ng biyaya ng Dios ay nilasap ni Jesus ang kamatayan dahil sa bawat tao Hebreo 2:9"

Balut (duck fetus egg), Penoy(milder version of the Balut - no feet, beak and feathered chick inside), Abnoy (more popularly cooked as "bibingkang abnoy"  similar to an omelette) and Pulang Itlog (aka Itlog na Maalat  or  Salted Egg in English), are the variants of delicacies you can have from cooking and preparing these duck eggs.

These posts represents the different type of Balut-related articles, blogs, images, facts, people, and imaginative stories our hero or protagonist encounters in his everyday adventure.

Each adventure exploits encounters that could be categorically branded as  simply mundane or insanely extraordinary.

Z Is Just A Kid
