1. Miriam Defensor Santiago
Elected as judge to the International Criminal Court (ICC). The ICC is the first permanent, treaty based, international criminal court established to help end impunity for the perpetrators of the most serious crimes of concern to the international community.
The ICC is an independent international organisation, and is not part of the United Nations system. Its seat is at The Hague in the Netherlands. Although the Court’s expenses are funded primarily by States Parties, it also receives voluntary contributions from governments, international organisations, individuals, corporations and other entities.
Santiago will be the the first Asian from a developing country to have a seat in the ICC. She is the third Filipino to be elected to UN courts. First, Chief Justice Cesar Bengzon to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), then Romeo Capulong to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
"I would like to thank my political enemies who may have campaigned to bring me out of the country" she said.
2. Robin Lim
A Fil-Am from Bali, Indonesia is the 2011 CNN Hero of the year. Lim has helped thousands of poor Indonesian women to have a healthy pregnancy and birth. Through her Yayasan Bumi Sehat health clinics, "Mother Robin," or "Ibu Robin" as she is called by the locals, offers free prenatal care, birthing services and medical aid in Indonesia, where many families cannot afford care.
"Every baby's first breath on Earth could be one of peace and love. Every mother should be healthy and strong. Every birth could be safe and loving. But our world is not there yet," Lim said
CNN is continuously searching the globe for unheralded heroes -- everyday people changing the world. CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute is an annual television special created by CNN to honour individuals who make extraordinary contributions to humanitarian aid. Over the course of a year, viewers can nominate and vote for the heroes they want to nominate for recognition.
Efren PenaFlorida, a resident of Cavite, was the 2009 CNN Hero of the year due to his "Kariton" Classroom.
Be Kind To Us Troll was the 2010 CNN Hero of the year - yeah, I wish!...The 2010 winner was Anuradha Koirala, not of Filipino roots but from Nepal.
3. Eugenio "Boy" Abunda Jr.
Veteran TV host, publicist, talent manager and celebrity endorser Boy Abunda won the Asian Television Awards (ATA) Best Talk Show for his show, "The Bottomline With Boy Abunda".
Launched in 1996, the ATA is the Asian TV industry's most significant and celebrated event, recognizing excellence in programming, production and performance.
The Awards comprise over 30 categories and represent the industry's foremost recognition by enjoying the support of every major industry player throughout the region. ATA attracts a multitude of entries from a wide range of broadcasters, including free-to-air television stations and pay-TV platforms, as well as many independent production houses in Asia.
ATA is positioned as the only event of its kind within the Asian region, and upholds a prestigious reputation of showcasing quality television production.

4. Brian "The Hawaiian Punch" Viloria
Filipino-American boxing champ Brian “The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria successfully defended his World Boxing Organization(WBO) flyweight crown against The Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound No. 9 Giovanni "El Guerrero Azteca" (The Aztec Warrior) Segura of Mexico in “Island Assault 3” held at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Segura obtained a large lump on his head due to the severity of the blows he suffered from Viloria. He was taken to the Medical City in Pasig immediately after the fight.
Referee Samuel Viruet stopped the fight at the 8th round and declared the native boxer from Narvacan, Ilocos Sur victorious by technical knockout (TKO).
5. Rey "Boom-Boom" Bautista
Reigning IBF International Featherweight Champion Rey "BoomBoom" Bautista is getting closer to another shot at a world title after his impressive KO victory over undefeated Mexican slugger Miguel Mendoza at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines.
Bautista, who failed to snatch the WBO super bantamweight crown in his first attempt from Daniel Ponce de Leon in 2007, came in aggressively as he engaged the undefeated Mexican in a powerful exchange of punches starting in the very first round.
6. Lieutenant General Jessie Dellosa
Appointed as the new Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief replacing AFP chief Eduardo Oban Jr., who retired December 13, after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56.
Dellosa was tactical commander of PSG’s Special Reaction Unit from 1988 to 1992, and eventually served the late president Corazon Aquino’s aide de camp. He was responsible for implementing "Oplan Daybreak", which rescued American missionary Gracia Burnham and killed Abu Sayyaf leader Abu Sabaya in 2002.
Dellosa and Oban both hails from Sorsogon in Bicol and are both graduates of Philippine Military Academy Class 1979.
7. Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle
From Imus, Cavite, he assumed the post as the new Archbishop of Manila, taking over from former Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales.
“I tremble before the love that calls me to lead the people to the Lord. But my poor sinful person finds rest in Him who is the Church’s true shepherd,” said Tagle, who chose the biblical verse “Dominus Est” (It is the Lord)! as his episcopal motto.
“I am also consoled to know that we would be building on the legacy of the loving service of 31 archbishops … and my immediate predecessor, Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales… I feel humbled,” he said.
“There is so much that I will learn from you. Teach me. Be patient with me. Let us love one another at all times,” Tagle added.
Tagle’s installation as the new shepherd of Manila’s estimated 2.8 million Catholics was attended by Church leaders from Southeast Asia, including the archbishops of Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Rangoon.
8. The 188 members of the House of Representatives
Who participated in the "lightning-fast" processing of the Impeachment complaint against the Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona - this is the second time they were able to impeach a high authority in the land. The first was former Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez who resigned instead of facing an impeachment trial.
9. Judge Jesus Mupas
Pasay RTC branch 112 judge, for finally issuing a warrant of arrest against former Commission on Election (COMELEC) Chairman Benjamin Abalos who is now detained at the Southern Police District (SPD). The warrant was delayed because Abalos filed a very urgent motion for Judicial Determination of Probable Cause on the electoral sabotage case filed against him. Mupas has to dispose of that motion first before doing pretty much anything else.
10. Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ)
His real name is Ronald Allan Kelley Poe, whose 7th death anniversary is on the 14th of December, for being recognized as the possible real winner of the 2004 Presidential elections making him the real 14th President of the country. FPJ died of a stroke only a few months after the 2004 elections where he ran for the Presidency against a few politicians including Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who is now detained in a government hospital for charges of electoral sabotage. FPJ was a friend of former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada.
11. Anne Curtis
For making it to Platinum on her first record album "Annebisyosa" , and for her first concert dubbed as the "No Other Concert" on January 28. The concert title was taken from her very successful top-grossing movie "No Other Woman" where she played as the other woman of "Derek Ramsey", whose wife was "Christine Garcia". Curtis is living proof that you don't need to be the greatest singer or actress in order to get the support and love of the masses or "madlang people".
and lastly , eventhough she has no Filipino roots whatsoever, I've got to mention her as I am a sucker for beautiful women.

12. Jennifer Aniston
Now recognized as the Sexiest Woman of All Time beating out her former love rival Angelina Jolie who has long been considered to be the sexier of the two. The Tomb Raider star only made tenth place in the poll.
Men's Health readers voted the former Friends star to the top of the list above many other screen sirens before her who had more bombshell qualities.
The magazine explained why they think the star was voted the top of the list.
"Funny is sexy, and Jennifer Aniston is funny," the publication stated. "Her down-to-earth persona makes her seem attainable and anyone who's seen her in 'Office Space' has to admit she makes even pieces of flair look good."

Jennifer has one of the best bodies in Hollywood through regular work out sessions and a reported fanatical approach to her diet. There's no denying than Jennifer Aniston is a beautiful woman with an amazing body and an envious lifestyle.
